The Musicians
Violin/Viola | Musical Director
Sol Huang
Sol is currently a graduate student working toward a master’s degree in violin performance. They started viola in the fall of 2021 and play both with equal passion. Although performance-focused, they seriously enjoy growing their craft alongside students. In the future, they hope to attain a DMA in violin performance. With their education, they hope to do more research on the balance between holistic well-being and ambitious pursuits.
Violin
Amy Macias
Amy Macias is a string music teacher and band assistant working for San Jacinto Valley Academy and the San Jacinto community string program, MUSICA! Amy also plays percussion, viola, and cello. She graduated from Mt. San Jacinto Community College with her AA in music transfer and is now currently attending Cal State San Bernardino and majoring in music education.
Violin
Leslie Gonzalez
California-born Leslie Gonzalez is a Chicana and 20-year-old violinist residing in Los Angeles. She started formal training in music at the age of seven at her El Sistema program, The Harmony Project. At the age of 18, she had the opportunity to work with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, New World Symphony, Sistema Scotland, and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
Currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance at the University of Redlands under Samuel Fischer, she is a member of the University of Redlands Symphony Orchestra in the first violin section. Leslie teaches at the Community School of Music and Arts in Redlands, CA. As a teacher, she hopes to inspire her students to be creative as musicians and to learn to love music.
Cello
Annie Ragni
Annie is a senior at the University of Redlands, (hopefully) graduating with a Cello Performance degree in the spring! After picking up a cello eleven years ago, her favorite thing has consistently been sharing the pure fun of playing music with anyone who would care to listen.
Outside of a string quartet, she can often be found teaching cello lessons or working in the
Redlands Symphony office. Once graduated, she plans to pursue a master’s degree in cello
performance and continue with a career in arts administration.
Vocalist
Berlin Garcia
Berlin has always had a passion for expressing himself through music and using his voice as a means of empowerment. He believes that music holds a great power to connect us with one another and ultimately to something greater than ourselves. When he isn’t jamming in his car or dancing at home you can often find him practicing yoga, climbing, delving into the depths of his own psyche, or cooking!
